Jill is a structural engineer who has been with Element since 2013. She has over 15 years of professional experience in the design, management, and implementation of complex projects. Jill's design efforts include residential and light commercial structures for both in-house Element projects and subcontracted architects and designers. Working in a team environment with Element's architects allows Jill to collaborate throughout the process, and makes sure the structural designs function properly and meet all applicable codes.
Jill is instrumental in coordinating the structural designs with Element's 3D software and she has in depth knowledge of high wind design and detailing. Her communication skills are invaluable both in the office and on-site with clients, builders and subcontractors. Jill earned a B.S., Aeronautical Engineering and an M.S., Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. She began her career as an aeronautical engineer at NASA, became a manager at an Internet communications company, and then pursued her interest in structural engineering that supports architecture and design.
Before joining Element, she worked at Geo-Technology Associates, Inc., as a geological technician and engineer, and later for MacIntosh Engineering as a project designer for both commercial and residential engineering projects. Jill holds professional engineering licenses in Maryland and Delaware and has NCEES certification.
